Description

MUST have 2 recent years of ICU experience within the past 2 years going back from today’s date in order to qualify for this position. See below for additional information.

 

 

Department: ICU | RN.

*Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS*.

IL license required to submit.

- # Beds: 8 ICU.

- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 some patients are lower acuity.

- Required Certifications: BLS ACLS, NIHSS.

- Common diagnoses: Sepsis, General Medical, General Surgical, Stroke (TNK),

DKA, PNA, ETOH withdrawal.

Post cath recovery- radial/femoral sites.

No CVOR.

No CRRT, abdominal surgical.

In the rare case there is a balloon pump, core staff.

Would take.

ICU RNs run codes in the facility.

In the event of a code- the other.

ICU nurses cover.

They also have tele attached to the unit and those nurses can.

Assist in backing up while the code nurse is out.

Unit is primarily primary care.

Nursing.

- Experience: 2+ years ICU, Code Blue Command RN and phlebotomy are a plus.

Expectation for ICU nurse to run codes.

EICU at night for 6 of the 8 beds- Align.

With UW Health center.

Highly prefer previous travel.

Meditech experience a plus.

- Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes. - Common titratable: Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, TNK etc.

Do.

Some mixing of medications.

- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge Nurse takes Assignment, Nursing.

Supervisor, patient free.

- Are there nurse aids on this unit: Care Support/Unit Secretary/CNA when acuity.

Warrants.

Typically they have a CNA that is trained to support as unit secretary as.

Well.

- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, hospitalist 24/7 (In house during the day).

- RT Equipment: Yes.

- Are there Tele on this unit: RN's responsible for strips.

No monitor tech.

GE.

Carescape and Airstrip Technology.

- Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730).

Scheduled on.

Shifts most in need.

Staffing is census based.

There is at least one nurse on staff.

Even without patients (which is rare).

ER nurse can also be used as back up.

- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.

- Holiday Requirements: Holiday Rotation.

- Is there a call or standby requirement: Not for agency, yes for core staff.

- Floating Requirements: Yes, MedSurg, Tele, ER - full patient load.

- Scrub Color: Any color professional scrubs.

- Department specific orientation: Yes, 2 12 hour shifts.

Will have a resource for.

Th recruiters are super nice and helpful.

Cons

Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
