Description
Unit Notes:Department: CVOR Tech
*Certifications Required: BLS, CST or NCCT, ND UAP*
PROFILE REVIEW+MANAGER INTERVIEW
- # of Suites: 2 CVOR suites
- Average # of cases per day: 1-3 depending on the case as we do all thoracic and vascular cases as part of CV too
- Common Cases: Open hearts (CABG, Valve, aneuryms) thoracotomies, VATS, Convergent, AAA, carotids, ION robotic cases, ECMO, Impella 5.5, Stryker towers
- Experience/Must have skills: MUST BE WILLING to cross train into general OR if CV volumes are low, 2 years of CVOR experience, open hearts, CABG, Valves, MUST be able to first scrub. Staff must be willing to float to the floor as a 1:1 sitter; we do this to supplement hours if we have a low case volume
- Manager/Charge Nurse on each shift?: Charge Nurse for all shifts 7a-11p M-F, weekends 7a-7p, manager until 4p M-F
- Shifts & Scheduling: 0645-1515 M-F, start at 6a for Open Heart Case Prep (notified the day before) OT opportunity, CV team lead will make schedule
- Weeknight Call Requirements: 3-4 times per week, 1515-0645
- Weekend Call Requirements: every other to every third weekend, Fri at 1515 to Mon at 0645
- Holiday/Call Requirements: rotating holidays- must be willing to work holidays
- What is call response time? 15 minutes, 8 hour reprieve shifts for post call, sleep room available - housing should also be available nearby to make call
- Floating Requirements MUST BE WILLING to cross train to other OR specialties if CV volumes are low, for ortho or general cases, they will cross train to second scrub. MUST be willing to float to to the floor as a 1:1 sitter; we do this to supplement hours if we have a low case volume. If refused- considered supplimental time off, not getting paid- RDO day) Ability to pick up extra for 1:1 sitting; we do this to supplement hours if we have a low case volume.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Provided
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 4-5 days unit based orientation; 2 buddy call shifts flexible orientation based on recent heart experience
- Additional Notes: This department has a family atmosphere
Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
