Travel RN – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Contract Details

Location: San Jose, CA (Good Samaritan Hospital)
Unit: Labor & Delivery (2nd Floor)
Weekends: Rotating weekends based on Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
Charting System: Meditech / CPN (Clinical Documentation for Perinatal)

Facility & Unit Overview

Facility Scale: Good Samaritan Hospital is a 474-bed acute care facility renowned for its specialized women's and children's services.
Unit Structure: 10 L&D beds with a supportive team structure including Charge RN, Unit Clerk, Scrub Tech, and RNs.
Ratios: Mandated strictly per California Title 22 ratios (1:2 for active labor, 1:1 for second stage/heavy complications, 1:2 for recovery).
Case Mix: High volume of vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and other perinatal operating room cases.

Requirements & Experience

Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of dedicated Labor & Delivery experience strictly required.
License: Active California (CA) RN license required at submission.
Certifications: AHA BLS required. (Standard CA L&D compliance will also require NRP and AWHONN Intermediate/Advanced Fetal Monitoring).
Team Fit: Strong team player with good communication skills who adapts easily to unit flow.
