Description

 Nurse Manager – Mother/Baby (OB Department) | Days | 5x8s | Massachusetts

 

Seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to oversee daily operations of the Mother/Baby unit while supporting the broader OB Department, including Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Special Care Nursery.

 

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Every other weekend & holiday on-call for the entire OB department
  • No additional compensation for on-call hours

Requirements:

  • Current Massachusetts RN License
  • Minimum 5 years of Obstetrical Nursing experience with demonstrated leadership
  • Previous Nurse Manager/Supervisory experience required
  • BLS, ACLS & NRP required
  • BSN preferred
  • Inpatient OB Certification strongly preferred
  • Kronos experience is a major plus

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily Mother/Baby and OB department operations, staffing, and patient flow
  • Manage department schedules, staffing assignments, and employee timecards
  • Conduct shift huddles and serve as Charge RN when working clinically
  • Supervise and evaluate staff performance, participate in hiring, coaching, and annual reviews
  • Oversee schedules for OB nurses, PCTs, L&D scrub techs, and Unit Coordinators
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop policies, staff education, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Support regulatory compliance, patient safety, and patient satisfaction initiatives
  • Provide direct patient care as needed and perform RN duties for Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Special Care Nursery
  • Participate in hospital committees and promote professional development across the department
