RN – Wound Care | Roles & Responsibilities

Assess, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic wounds, ensuring evidence-based wound care practices.

Perform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

Provide wound care treatments, including dressing changes, debridement assistance, and advanced wound management therapies.

Monitor wound healing progress, identify signs of infection or complications, and communicate changes to providers.

Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Educate patients and families on wound care, skin integrity, infection prevention, and discharge instructions.

Maintain accurate documentation and charting using Cerner EMR.

Prioritize patient care in a high-volume, fast-paced acute care environment while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and physician orders.

Required Documents / Certifications

• Active Illinois RN License
• BLS
• 2+ years of acute care Wound Care RN experience
• Cerner EMR experience
• Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced acute care setting
• COVID-19 Vaccination (Required)
• Influenza Vaccination (Required)
