Schedule: Sunday – Saturday | Shifts Vary Based on Daily Business Needs (Up to 12-Hour Shifts)

Position Overview:
 

CVS Health is actively seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to join its Vaccination Support Program in Bloomington, Indiana. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses passionate about preventive healthcare and community wellness. The RN will provide safe, high-quality immunization services while delivering outstanding patient care in a fast-paced retail clinic environment.

As part of the vaccination initiative, you will administer a variety of CDC-recommended vaccines, educate patients, perform clinical assessments, and support public health initiatives through compassionate, evidence-based nursing care.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer a variety of adult and pediatric vaccines, including:
    • Influenza (Flu)
    • COVID-19
    • MMR
    • Hepatitis
    • Tdap
    • Shingles
    • Pneumonia
    • RSV
    • Other CDC-recommended immunizations
  • Perform pre-vaccination assessments, health screenings, and eligibility reviews.
  • Assess patient medical history, allergies, contraindications, and vaccination readiness.
  • Educate patients regarding vaccine benefits, potential side effects, post-vaccination care, booster schedules, and CDC recommendations.
  • Monitor patients during the post-vaccination observation period and respond appropriately to adverse reactions or emergencies.
  • Accurately document vaccine administration and patient encounters while maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain proper vaccine storage, handling, inventory management, and infection prevention protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional patient experiences.
  • Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and excellent customer service while promoting community health initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience, including immunization or vaccination administration
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail healthcare environment
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including varying shift lengths based on business needs
  • Must not appear on the DEA Excluded Parties List

  • Previous experience in:
    • Retail Health Clinics
    • Community Health
    • Public Health
    • Occupational Health
    • Ambulatory Care
    • Vaccination Clinics
  • Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Proven ability to educate patients and deliver high-quality preventive care
