Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NICU/Pediatrics
Assignment Details
- Specialty: RRT – NICU/Pediatrics
- Start Date: 08/31/2026
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Nights – 3×12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required.
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted.
Required Certifications & License
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- PALS (Required)
Charting System
- Cerner (Required)
Position Highlights
- Primarily NICU with Pediatric float responsibilities
- Must be comfortable caring for neonatal and pediatric patients in critical care settings.
- On-call, weekends, and holiday coverage are required based on department needs.
Essential Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Work the full duration of the contract at the assigned facility.
- Work the assigned shift schedule.
- Take on-call assignments as required.
- Work assigned weekends.
- Work at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract.

- Pediatric Critical Care
- Adult Critical Care
- Emergency Department
- Mechanical Ventilation
- Ventilator Management
- High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- CPAP/BiPAP
- High-Frequency Ventilation (Jet & Oscillator)
- Bubble CPAP
- Intubation Assistance
- Neonatal & Pediatric Airway Management
- Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) Collection & Interpretation
- Chest Physiotherapy
- Oxygen Therapy
- Aerosol & Nebulizer Treatments
- Medication Administration
- Tracheostomy Care
- Respiratory Distress Management
- Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD)
- Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
- Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn (TTN)
- Neonatal Resuscitation & High-Risk Deliveries
Physical Requirements
This is an active clinical role that requires:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Lifting and moving equipment and objects weighing 20 lbs or more.
- Working in a healthcare environment with exposure to contagious illnesses.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have strong NICU and pediatric respiratory care experience, be comfortable floating to pediatric units, possess excellent critical thinking skills, and thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment.
