Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Immunization Nurse to support a community vaccination initiative in a retail healthcare setting. The RN will be responsible for administering various vaccines, providing high-quality patient care, and ensuring a safe and positive healthcare experience.

This is an onsite, patient-facing contract opportunity requiring strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and flexibility to support vaccination operations.

Position Summary

The Immunization Nurse will provide vaccination services in a community healthcare setting. The RN will administer recommended vaccines, educate patients, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to promote preventive health outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have immunization experience, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Administer vaccines including:
  • Influenza (Flu)
  • COVID-19
  • MMR
  • Other recommended immunizations
• Perform safe medication administration according to clinical guidelines.
• Provide vaccine education and answer patient questions regarding immunizations.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and records.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, and PPE protocols.
• Deliver compassionate, professional, and patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and support staff.
• Adapt to changing clinic needs and maintain efficient workflow.
• Promote a positive patient experience through effective communication.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, including immunization and patient care experience.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
• Strong clinical skills, including medication administration and vaccination procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to administer vaccines.
• Verifiable High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must not be listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in:
  • Immunization clinics
  • Retail healthcare settings
  • Community health environments
  • Outpatient nursing
• Experience administering multiple vaccine types.
• Strong patient education and counseling skills.
