Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Location: Saint Louis, MO 63110
Shift: Night | 3x12 Hours (6:15 PM – 6:45 AM)
 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced Cardiovascular Operating Room at a Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital. The RN will provide both scrub and circulating support for complex cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and transplant procedures.
 

Schedule

• Night Shift: 3x12 Hours (6:15 PM – 6:45 AM)
• Start times may rotate as needed
• Monday–Friday
• Block scheduling is not available

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR RN experience
  • Candidates with 1 year of experience will be considered only if the experience was obtained in a Level I Trauma facility
• First-time travelers accepted only if they have more than 2 years of experience in a Level I Trauma facility
• Scrub experience is required
• Circulating experience is required
• Teaching hospital experience is required
• Level I Trauma experience is required

Additional Procedure Experience

• Whipple (Pancreatic Procedures)

Work Setting

• CVOR
• Hybrid OR
• Adult patient population
• Fast-paced department with emergent cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases
• Highest level of care in the region
• Epic charting system

Floating

• Required within the service line based on facility needs.

Call Requirements

• No scheduled call for the night shift.
• Candidates are required to participate in the department's call rotation:
  • 3–4 weekday call shifts and 1–2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule.
  • Call frequency may vary based on unit needs.
• Official turnaround time is 40 minutes from call to clock-in.
• Emergency cases require a maximum 60 minutes from case request to OR, with the expectation that staff can be in the room and setting up within 40 minutes.

Additional Requirements

• Heart and Lung transplant experience is required for the night shift.
• Candidates must have sufficient Level I Trauma experience.
• All staff are responsible for entering missing instruments into the CensiTrac system (reviewed during orientation).

Traveler Guidelines
