- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate of Science in Nursing
Description
- Night Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts
- 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours/week
- Weekdays, some weekends, rotating holidays
- On-call required
Contract
- 13 weeks (91 days)
- Guaranteed: 36 hours/week
Patient Ratio
- Approximately 1:3
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience
- Epic charting experience required
- IV start proficiency
- Telemetry monitoring experience
- BLS & ACLS required
- Previous travel experience preferred
Required Skills
- PCU/Stepdown care
- Cardiac telemetry
- Starting & maintaining IVs
- Central/PICC line care
- Chest tube management
- BiPAP/CPAP & HFNC
- Ventilator/tracheostomy care
- Heparin & insulin drips
- Cardiac drip titration
- Dysrhythmia & ABG interpretation
- Blood administration
- Pre/Post hemodialysis management
- Rapid Response/Code Team experience
Unit Information
- Cardiac-focused PCU with a variety of medical diagnoses
- Chronic ventilator patients
- Post-lung transplant patients
- Adults only
- Must float to equivalent or lower-acuity units within the OSU system
Scheduling
- Self-scheduling
- Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
- Maximum 2 pre-approved RTO requests
Vaccinations
- COVID-19: Not required
- Flu: Required (medical exemptions only)
Important Submission Requirements
- Active Compact or Ohio RN license required at submission
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- 2 professional references required
- At least 1 manager/director/supervisor
- Second reference may be a Charge RN
- Coworker references are not accepted
- Former OSU employees must be away for 6 months
- Current OSU employees are not eligible
Ohio Fingerprinting (Very Important)
- Fingerprinting must be completed immediately after signing the contract
- Candidates near Ohio must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location
- Candidates farther away will receive a fingerprint packet by mail
- Delays or lack of response during credentialing may result in a start-date push or contract cancellation

- WMC Permit: $215.20/month (closest parking)
- WB Permit: $15.67/month (budget option with shuttle)
- CXS Permit: $31.42/month
