Description
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Epic experience preferred
- Previous charge experience not required
Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- Active Georgia RN License or Compact License required at submission
Patient Population:
- Adults & Geriatrics
- Intermediate Care (PCU/Stepdown) and Medical-Surgical patients
Common Diagnoses:
- Dysrhythmias
- CHF
- Acute Coronary Syndrome/Myocardial Ischemia
- Acute Stroke (non-TPA)
- Other monitored medical patients
Patient Ratio:
- 1:4 (Days & Nights)
Unit Details:
- 12-bed Admit Unit
- All patients on hardwire telemetry
- RN self-monitors telemetry
- Fast-paced environment focused on patient throughput
- Strong teamwork
Required Skills:
- PCU/Stepdown care
- Telemetry monitoring & dysrhythmia interpretation
- Cardiac drip management (non-titrating)
- Blood administration
- Central & peripheral line care
- Non-invasive airway management
- Isolation precautions/PPE
Systems Used:
- Epic
- Pyxis
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Weekend Requirement:
- Every other weekend
Floating:
- Yes, within facility and scope of practice (primarily for low census)
Call Requirement:
- None specified
RTO (Requested Time Off):
- Maximum 7 days
- Must be finalized at submission
- No schedule or RTO requests after offer
Holiday Requirement:
- If 1–2 major holidays fall during the contract, traveler is expected to work them.
- If 3 holidays fall, traveler is expected to work 2.
Compliance:
- Complete onboarding/labs within 48 hours of contract signing.
- All compliance documents due by the Tuesday before start.
- Non-compliance delays start by 2 weeks due to orientation schedule.
Vaccination Requirements:
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not Required
- Flu Vaccine: Required (Medical/Religious exemptions accepted)
