Shift:

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours/week
• Rotating weekends (as needed)

Contract Length:

• 13 Weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: 2 North – Medical-Surgical
• Beds: 16
• Current patient population includes:
  • Medical-Surgical patients
  • COVID-positive patients

Staffing

Day Shift:

• 1 Charge RN
• 3–4 Staff RNs
• 1 Patient Care Assistant (PCA)

Night Shift:

• 1 Charge RN
• 3 Staff RNs
• 1 PCA

Patient Ratio

• Maximum 1:6

Experience Required

Must Have:

• Minimum 1 year of recent acute Medical-Surgical experience (within the last year)
• Ability to safely manage 4–6 patients

Preferred:

• 2+ years of recent acute Med/Surg experience
• Orthopedic or Neurosurgery background
• Med/Surg-Telemetry experience

Required Skills

• IV insertion
• Urinary catheter insertion and maintenance
• Central line care and maintenance
• Medication administration
• Electronic documentation
• Communication with the multidisciplinary care team

Certifications Required

• Active RN License

Charting System

• Meditech

Floating

• May float to other Medical-Surgical units as needed

Weekend Requirement

• Rotating weekends
• Additional weekend coverage may be required for travelers

Scrub Color
