Description

Unit: ACUTE REHAB - # Beds: 7 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:3-4, 2 nurses on shift at a time as long as there are 5+ patients. LPN+RN or RN+RN. - Required Certifications: BLS - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Stroke, Trauma, Cardiac, Debility, Spinal Cord Injury, Neuro, Orthopedic. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: 1 year of MS or Acute Rehab experience. IVs, straight caths, foley, abx, isolation patients. Nurses will insert own IVs. RN IRF (Inpatient Rehab ) training done in ARU (Acute Rehab Unit). Ok with first time travelers. Prefer Epic experience. - Are RN's required to titrate drips: No. - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: None. - Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do RN's read strips?: There is telemetry on the unit but nurses do not need to read strips, monitored at a central location. - Are RN's required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehab?: Yes weekly (Interdisciplinary Team meeting) on Wednesday mornings. - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor?: No, charge nurse on unit. House Supervisors manage day to day staff needs.
