Overview:

Seeking an experienced ICU Stepdown/Neuro PCU RN to care for patients with complex neurosurgical and stroke conditions in a mixed-acuity unit. This role includes caring for high-acuity stepdown patients requiring advanced neurological and hemodynamic monitoring.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for neurosurgical and stroke patients in a Stepdown/PCU setting
• Perform Q1 neurological assessments and continuous telemetry monitoring
• Care for patients with EVDs, lumbar/subdural drains, arterial lines, and Cardene drips
• Assist in the care of patients following aneurysm coiling/clipping, carotid endarterectomy, VP shunt placement, DBS insertion, and seizure management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain accurate documentation

Requirements:

• Active New York RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown/PCU experience (Required)
• High-acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Strong neurological assessment and critical thinking skills

Certifications:

• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS (Required)
• ACLS (AHA)
