First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) in Monterey, California. Operating within an acute care hospital across 2 Cath Lab suites and 1 EP lab, this position offers a structured 5x8 daytime schedule (07:00 AM - 15:30 PM, Monday–Friday). - Weekly Gross: $3,525.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $2,525.00
- Hourly W2 Rate: $25.00/hr
- Overtime Rate: $37.50/hr
đź“… SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Day shifts, 5x8-Hours (07:00 AM - 15:30 PM / 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday). Block scheduling configurations are not available.
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
- On-Call Requirements: Rotating weeknight, weekend, and holiday call (approx. 10 call shifts/month; rotating every 3rd weekend). Mandatory 30-minute call response time. Standby call rate is $8.00/hr ($120.00/hr call-back rate). (Note: Perm staff frequently pick up call shifts).
- Clinical Scope & Case Mix: Unit averages 6–7 Cath cases and 4–5 EP cases daily. Procedures cover PCI, pacemaker insertion, STEMI, diagnostic caths, and structural heart procedures (TAVR / Watchman). Responsibilities include procedural nursing as well as pre-op and recovery care as needed.
- EMR Charting System: Epic EMR.
- Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs.
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience is strictly required. Structural heart experience is preferred.
- Licensure: Active California State Board of Registered Nursing License.
- Certifications Required:
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
- NIHSS Stroke Certification
- RCIS certification is preferred but not required.
- Strict Facility Policy Note: CHOMP is a 100% smoke/nicotine-free facility. All pre-employment drug screenings must return a negative result for nicotine/cotinine. A positive test without a documented physician-prescribed nicotine patch will result in immediate contract cancellation.
