Job Title: Point of Care Testing (POCT) Coordinator/MT
Duration: 13+ Weeks + High possibility of extension
Location: Houston, TX 77030
Shift: Day Shift Hours will be between 8:00 AM to 04:00 PM
Job Summary:
Facility is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)/Medical Technologist (MT) with prior Point of Care Testing (POCT) experience to join our client's laboratory team. This position is responsible for coordinating POCT activities, supporting quality initiatives, maintaining compliance, and assisting with the implementation of new testing methodologies across the health system.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and support Point of Care Testing (POCT) operations.
Evaluate and improve POCT processes, methodologies, and instrumentation.
Develop, validate, and maintain testing procedures and documentation.
Monitor quality control, proficiency testing, and compliance activities.
Manage POCT information systems, including operator management and data review.
Investigate quality issues, patient identification errors, and system flags.
Assist with inventory control and standardization of POCT processes.
Review and update POCT manuals and policies annually.
Collaborate with laboratory leadership and clinical teams to implement POCT policies and best practices.
Participate in departmental projects and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Laboratory Science, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science.
Minimum of one (1) year of clinical laboratory experience.
Current MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) certification required.
Previous Point of Care Testing (POCT) experience required.
Experience with Telcor QML is highly preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
