🚨 Travel Med Surg RN | Nights | 13-Week Contract
We're hiring an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse for a fast-paced post-operative unit specializing in orthopedic, spine, bariatric, and general surgery patients.
📍 Location: Kentucky
🩺 Specialty: Med Surg RN
🌙 Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12)
📅 Contract: 13 Weeks
Requirements:
- ✅ Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience
- ✅ First-time travelers welcome if they have extensive post-op surgical experience, especially with Orthopedic and GI surgical patients
- ✅ Active Kentucky or Compact RN License
- ✅ AHA BLS required (ACLS not required)
Unit Highlights:
- 23-bed Medical Surgical unit
- Care for Orthopedic, Spine, General Surgery, Bariatric, and occasional Medical patients
- Fast-paced unit with 10–20 post-op admissions daily
- Cardiac and oxygen monitoring capabilities
- EKG competency exam required during onboarding
- Float within skill set as needed
Submission Requirements:
- RTO must be submitted with your application
- At least 1 professional reference
- Previous employment with the health system must be disclosed
- No active license or background issues
- Local candidates within 100 miles are not eligible

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
