Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Needham, MA

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a full-time contract opportunity in Needham, Massachusetts. This position is ideal for candidates with hospital laboratory experience who are comfortable performing moderate and high complexity testing in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Position Details

Location: Needham, MA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:25 PM - 11:55 PM
40 hours per week
Rotating weekends and holidays
Free onsite parking

Compensation

Local Pay: $52/hour ($2,080 weekly gross)
Travel Pay Package: Up to $2,585 weekly gross
- $20/hour taxable wage
- $560 weekly meals stipend
- $1,225 weekly housing stipend

Responsibilities

Perform moderate and high complexity laboratory testing
Conduct chemistry, hematology, morphology, urinalysis, and serology testing
Analyze and interpret laboratory results
Document findings accurately within the laboratory information system
Perform quality control procedures and maintain laboratory standards
Conduct routine instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
Ensure compliance with laboratory regulations and procedures

Qualifications

Prior healthcare experience as an MLT or MT required
Generalist laboratory experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemical Science, or related field required
ASCP certification strongly preferred
Candidates without ASCP certification must possess a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Medical Technology; otherwise transcripts may be required for credential review
Reliable transportation and commute preferred for local candidates

Compliance Requirements

TB test within one year of start date
MMR vaccination or positive titer
Varicella vaccination or positive titer
Tdap within the last 10 years
Hepatitis B declination accepted
COVID-19 vaccination not required
Flu vaccination preferred (declination/exemption available)
Drug screen required (THC not included)
