Position: Dialysis RN
Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday with shifts scheduled between 5:30 AM and 6:00 PM. Typical schedules may include a combination of:

• Two 12-hour and two 8-hour shifts, or
• Four 10-hour shifts

Weekend Rotation:

• Rotating Saturdays between 5:30 AM and 6:00 PM
• Shift length may be 8 or 12 hours, depending on department needs

On-Call Requirements:

• Potential weekday call coverage: Monday-Friday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Potential weekend call coverage: Saturday 6:00 PM through Monday 6:00 AM

Float Requirements:

• Floating to all other dialysis locations within the system is required.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of dialysis experience required
• Acute inpatient dialysis experience required; outpatient dialysis experience preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Active New York RN License must be in hand at the time of submission
• Candidates radius must be above 75 mile
• Epic charting experience

• Acute Care Inpatient Dialysis
• Chronic Outpatient Dialysis
• Hemodialysis
• Acute Renal Failure Management
• Infection Control Practices
• AV Fistula and AV Graft Cannulation
• Tunneled and Non-Tunneled Catheter Care
• Dialysis Machine Operation (Baxter, Fresenius, Gambro, Prismaflex)
• Dialysate Conductivity Testing
• Blood and Blood Product Administration

Dialysis Equipment Troubleshooting:

• Air Foam Detector Alarms
• Arterial and Venous Pressure Alarms
• Blood Leak Detection
• Blood Pump Alarms
• Conductivity, Temperature, Dialysate Pressure, Ultrafiltration, and Power Failure Alarms

Emergency & Critical Care Skills:

• Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias
• Cardiac Arrest/CPR
• Air Emboli
• Chest Pain
• Hyperkalemia
• Hypotension
• Fluid Overload
• Hemolysis
• Clotted Access/Poor Blood Flow Rate
• Seizures
• Pericarditis
• Disequilibrium Syndrome
• Pyrogenic Reactions
