Internal Job Description
Licensed Practical Nurse - Pediatric ER.
Looking for LPNs with ED experience.
They must be able to place IV's and perform phlebotomy.
Will be required to work every other weekend and some holidays.
\n\nQualifications: Current New York State license; able to be certified/re-certified in CPR.
Minimum of 1 (one) year of experience required.
Prior experience in an inpatient setting preferred.
Must possess excellent\ninterpersonal and communication skill.
Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills\nwith patients, family members and other members of the health care team ..\nDuties: Able to perform majority of patient care functions needed in an acute care setting with minimal\norientation and supervision.
Greet patients, direct to exam rooms, prepare for exam.
Routine assistance\nduring exams: set up trays for injections, measure and record progress of patients, take and record vital\nsigns. Assist with general office duties, reception, appointment scheduling, tiling and chart preparation.\nContact various insurance companies to obtain authorizations for physical therapy, l'vlR's, CT's, surgery,\netc.
Contact primary care physicians to obtain referrals on new patients or extensions of referrals on\ncurrent patients.
Assist physicians in patient care.
Maintain exam rooms and all clinical areas.\nAdminister injections and assist with paps and other procedures.
Experience using Electronic Medical\nRecords strongly desired.
Implements nursing care activities under the direction of the primary or\nassociate nurse as outlined in the nursing care plan.
Observes and reports patient responses to\ntreatments.
Participates in activities related to nursing unit management.

Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
