Location: Newark, NY
Shift: 5×8 Evenings (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
Contract: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Start Date: 08/24/2026
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a 42-bed Long-Term Care (LTC) facility in Newark, NY. This opportunity is ideal for both experienced travelers and first-time travel nurses. The unit provides care for adult and geriatric patients with conditions including Dementia, Arthritis, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), and Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA/Stroke).
Requirements
- Active LPN/LVN License
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Minimum 1 year of LTC, Skilled Nursing, or Rehab experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- First-time travelers are welcome
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Long-Term Care setting.
- Administer medications, treatments, and monitor patient conditions.
- Perform patient admissions, assessments, vital signs, intake/output monitoring, and clinical documentation.
- Provide wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, dressing changes, and Wound VAC management.
- Assist with Foley catheter care, blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, oxygen therapy, and specimen collection.
- Maintain infection control practices and isolation precautions.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, and Unit Secretaries.
- Educate patients and families while ensuring compassionate, high-quality care.

- 5×8 Evening Shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
- Every Other Weekend
- Float as needed within the facility

- Patient Ratios:
- Days: 1:21
- Nights: 1:42
- Weekends: 1:21
