Description

Cath Lab / Special Procedures – Job Description

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of travel experience preferred.
  • Previous Cath Lab and/or Special Procedures experience required.
  • Must hold an active state license or applicable certification.
  • Strong knowledge of interventional, vascular, cardiac, and electrophysiology procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Vascular & Endovascular Procedures

  • Assist with a wide range of vascular procedures, including IVC filters, peripheral runoffs, PTA/stenting, radiofrequency ablation, AAA repair, TCAR, carotid angiography, renal angiograms, graftograms/fistulograms, and EKOS.
  • Assist with vascular access procedures and arterial and venous sheath placement and removal.
  • Perform or assist with sheath removal using manual compression and hemostasis devices.
  • Assist with vascular closure devices, including Mynx, Vascade, Perclose, Angio-Seal, and TR Band.

Cardiac & Interventional Procedures

  • Assist with cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, including PTCA, PCI, Rotablator, CSI, and Penumbra.
  • Assist with Balloon Pump and Impella insertion, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), and Instantaneous Wave-Free Ratio (iFR).
  • Assist with temporary pacemaker insertion.
  • Support structural heart procedures, including TAVR, Watchman, PFO Closure, and MitraClip.

Electrophysiology (EP) Procedures

  • Assist with pacemaker and ICD implantation.
  • Assist with loop recorder insertion and removal.
  • Support radiofrequency, cryoablation, and pulse-field ablation procedures.
  • Assist with EP studies and related procedures.
  • Assist with synchronized cardioversion and defibrillation.

Hemodynamic Monitoring & Critical Care

  • Assist in the care and monitoring of critically ill patients.
  • Perform thermodilution and hemodynamic calculations.
  • Assist with invasive hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of relevant data.

Imaging & Cath Lab Equipment

  • Maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures.
  • Position patients appropriately using proper radiologic techniques.
  • Set up and manage cardiac monitoring equipment.
  • Operate and maintain ACIST contrast injectors and manual manifolds.
  • Monitor and accurately document contrast volume administered.
  • Identify and troubleshoot X-ray and Cath Lab equipment issues.

Documentation & Quality

  • Collect and maintain accurate PCI Registry data.
  • Document procedural findings and patient information accurately.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental projects.
  • Follow Cath Lab protocols, infection-control standards, and patient safety requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
