Description
Title: MRI Technologist
Location: Charlotte North Carolina
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 8hr Evening Shift - 40
Shift Information:1300 - 2100 (Monday - Friday)
Clinical Interviewing- Yes - Manager to conduct final interview/approval
On Call, Call Back Requirements: None
Weekend Rotation: None
Holiday Requirements: Closed for major holidays
Floating Requirements: On Mondays, mobile unit will go to Ballantyne or Mt. Holly (about 30 miles away).
About Facility:
- Neurosurgery and Neurology office
Unit Information:
- Beds: 1 MRI mobile (connected to building)
- Census: Average patients/day: 30 scans for entire day (0700-2100)
Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years, acute or outpatient
- Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- Primarily adults, but could see infants with rapid sequence scans (in the morning) as well as occasional child
- Stroke, new onset mental status, spinal issues or injuries (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar), seizures, post-surgical patients, pituitary, Chiari malformation, hips, shoulders, knees
- Patients must be able to at least take a few steps. Will not see completely immobile patients
Required License, National Certification, Certs: BLS, ARRT-MR
Skills required:
- Experience with above patient types, must be knowledgeable in implants and which are safe as will see several post-neuro surgical patients and stimulators, administering contrast, handling claustrophobic patients and high anxiety, venous access (will administer contrast via butterfly needle)
- Must be comfortable working as solo MRI Tech
- Contrast injections completed before 1600 as MD is offsite then. No sedation, no critical patients
Support within the Department:
- MRI Assistant
- Patient Service Reps at Front Desk
- 1 MRI Tech for Days, 1 MRI Tech for Eves (some overlap between shifts)
- Radiologist reading offsite – communicate via secure chat
- Supervisor
Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: EPIC
- PACS: ViewPACS
Unit specific equipment: Client 1.5T Client Voyager Wide Bore
Floating: If yes, where: On Mondays, mobile unit will go to Ballantyne or Mt. Holly (about 30 miles away).

- NEO
- First week will be orienting in department
Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation: none
- On call: None
- Holiday Expectations: closed for major holidays
- Approval of RTO: to go through manager
- Shift times: 1300-2100
- Schedule cycle: Monday – Friday
