Overview

Seeking an experienced ICU Stepdown RN to care for high-acuity neurosurgical and stroke patients in a specialized Neuro PCU/Stepdown unit. This role involves advanced neurological and hemodynamic monitoring in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with brain tumors, stroke, spinal disorders, and epilepsy
• Perform Q1 neuro assessments and continuous telemetry monitoring
• Manage patients with EVDs, lumbar/subdural drains, arterial lines, Cardene drips, and 3% NS
• Care for post-op patients following aneurysm coiling/clipping, carotid endarterectomy, DBS insertion, and VP shunt placement
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain accurate documentation

Requirements

• Active New York RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown/PCU experience (Required)
• High-acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Strong neurological assessment and critical care skills

Certifications

• BLS (Required)
• NIHSS (Required)
• ACLS (Required)
