Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: 80 Jesse Hill Jr Dr SE, Atlanta, GA 30303
Schedule: Days | 3×12-hour shifts | 36 hours/week
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care (PCU/IMCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. The nurse will provide care for medically complex patients requiring close monitoring in an Intermediate Care Unit.
Unit Details
- Unit: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
- Unit Size: 16–18 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Start Date: ASAP
- 48-hour contracts available
Patient Population
- Sepsis
- Heart Failure
- Hypertensive Emergency
- Respiratory Failure
- COPD
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
- Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM)
- Substance Abuse
- Encephalopathy
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to progressive care patients.
- Monitor and manage patients requiring continuous cardiac and respiratory assessment.
- Administer medications, including Heparin drips.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed.
- Accurately document patient assessments and interventions.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care (PCU/IMCU) experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- Experience managing Heparin drips preferred.
