Job Title:Mental Health Counselor (Behavioral Health)
Location: Cordova, Alaska

Mandatory Qualifications for this Job

Active Alaska (AK) Mental Health License (Required)
Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
Current LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent license
Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health or Mental Health Counseling experience
Experience with crisis intervention, mental health assessments, and outpatient counseling
Knowledge of treatment planning, case management, and clinical documentation
Experience providing individual, family, and group therapy
Strong knowledge of HIPAA, ethics, and behavioral health regulations
Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills

Roles and Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive mental health and substance abuse assessments
Provide crisis intervention and behavioral health counseling
Deliver individual, family, and group therapy sessions
Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans
Manage an active caseload and maintain accurate clinical documentation
Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and interdisciplinary teams
Coordinate patient care and connect clients with community resources
Participate in treatment team meetings and case conferences
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing, and agency regulations
Maintain ethical standards and provide high-quality, patient-centered care
