Description
Radiologic Technologist – Mammography
Shift: Days, 3x12 — Fri/Sat/Sun, 7am–7pm
Contract: 13 weeks (91 days) | Guaranteed: 36 hrs/week
Role: Performs diagnostic radiography and mammography imaging, positioning patients/equipment for optimal results, minimizing radiation exposure, and ensuring image quality — all under direction of a licensed practitioner. Preps patients, verifies consent, assists with interventional procedures, maintains aseptic technique, and may administer contrast/meds per state law. Floated to other units (if qualified) before core staff.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's in Radiologic Technology (accredited program)
- Certs: ARRT (Mammography) + OBMI registered; current BLS; CRASE training if assignment >6 months
- Experience: None required; 2+ yrs preferred
Physical: Lift 50 lbs solo; push/pull/carry up to 25 lbs frequently; occasional patient transfers 100+ lbs (with aids/team); continuous standing/walking; good vision/hearing/tactile/motor skills; occasional stooping/kneeling.
Environment: Indoor hospital/clinic setting; fast-paced with exposure to infectious materials & hazardous substances; PPE required; must adapt to high-pressure/emergency situations.
