Description
Shift Requirements: 12 hour D/N variables; 0700-1930 and 1900-0730.
Float Requirements: other general west side units (2W Hospice/Oncology, 4W Neuro EENT, 7W Med/Surg and 8W Rehab).
On Call/Call-Back: Can be low censused and put on call.
Call back minimum is 2 hours.
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holidays as needed.
Required Certifications: AHA BLS, NIHSS and MN RN licensure.
Minimum Experience: 2+ year MS Ortho/Gen Surg experience with at least 1 travel assignment.
Charting/Equipment: Epic preferred.
Unit overview: Orthopedics and general surgery - 40 bed unit.
Patient ratios: 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights.
Required skills: General Surgery, total joint replacements, urology, vascular and GYN.
Hard worker, Resilient and Manages Change well, Social candidates.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
