This is a permanent position for a leadership role at a hospital in Connecticut.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Operating Room operations, staffing, and workflow.
- Schedule and assign OR staff based on patient needs, staff experience, and case volume.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff performance, including disciplinary action when necessary.
- Support staff education, orientation, competency validation, and professional development.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, physicians, and other departments to ensure efficient patient care and surgical flow.
- Promote quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance by monitoring care and following up on incidents.
- Assist with policy development, implementation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Manage resources, equipment, and staffing in a cost-effective manner.
- Review documentation to ensure standards of care are met.
- Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and role model for the surgical team.
- Remain visible and accessible throughout the department to resolve issues and improve operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- BLS required; ACLS preferred.
- 3–5 years of Operating Room clinical experience.
- Previous supervisory or management experience required.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to use hospital software systems.
