Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Unit

Location: Hawaii
Shift: Nights (36 Hours/Week)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Medical Unit in beautiful Hawaii. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses looking to advance their careers while enjoying island living.

Position Details

  • Specialty: Medical Unit
  • Shift: Nights
  • Contract: 13 Weeks
  • Guaranteed Schedule: 36 hours per week after the first full week of orientation
  • Scheduling: Candidates must be flexible to work various shift lengths and days as needed. Hours and shift preferences are not guaranteed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical patients.
  • Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using the Meditech EMR system.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 2–10 years of recent RN experience in a Medical Unit.
  • Experience with:
    • Meditech EMR
    • Pyxis medication dispensing system
    • Wound Vac therapy
    • Chest Tubes

Certifications & Licensure

  • Active RN License
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • Hawaii RN License required by the assignment start date. Candidates without an active Hawaii license must apply immediately upon offer acceptance.

Floating

  • May be required to float to:
    • Laulima Unit
    • Cardiovascular Unit

Unit Information

  • Medical Unit Beds: 77
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:
    • Days/Evenings: 1:6
    • Nights: 1:8

Additional Requirements

  • Proof of current flu vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption is required before the contract start date. If needed, the flu vaccine may be administered during the employee health clearance appointment.
  • Professional nursing attire is required.
  • Unit-specific orientation and training will be provided.
Certifications & Licensure Active RN License BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) Hawaii RN License required by the assignment start date. Candidates without an active Hawaii license must apply immediately upon offer acceptance.
