Travel Pharmacist – Inpatient / Oncology

Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift Window: Between 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Weekend: Every 3rd or 4th Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience, with inpatient or outpatient oncology experience and strong IV medication preparation skills.

The candidate must have experience with hazardous and non-hazardous medication preparation, be IV trained, and have EPIC Beacon experience.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmacy services in an inpatient/acute care setting.
  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately and safely.
  • Perform intravenous medication preparation.
  • Prepare hazardous and non-hazardous medications according to established procedures.
  • Utilize appropriate sterile technique during IV medication preparation.
  • Prepare and administer/support medication preparation including IV piggyback and IV push medications.
  • Provide clinical and pharmacotherapy support for medical conditions.
  • Perform appropriate medication dosing, including renal, geriatric, pediatric, and pharmacokinetic dosing as applicable.
  • Support oncology and chemotherapy-related medication services.
  • Utilize medication dispensing systems, including Pyxis.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Follow medication safety, infection control, and pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • May care for patients with COVID-19.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience.
  • Current, active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required.
  • RPh required.
  • EPIC Beacon experience required.
  • Inpatient or outpatient oncology experience required.
  • IV training required.
  • Experience with hazardous and non-hazardous medication preparation required.
  • Experience with IV medication preparation.
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique.

Schedule Requirements

  • 40 hours per week.
  • Shifts will fall between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
  • Every 3rd or 4th Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
  • Holidays as needed.
  • No call requirement.
  • Candidate may be required to float to another nearby worksite approximately 2 miles away based on operational needs.
