Required Certifications

ACLS, BLS Certification, ENPC, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC c, Valley Medical Center CEUs for Units Requiring NIHSS

Shift Notes

Report times may vary between 0700, 1100 and 1500

Key requirements

12-hour shifts
36 hours/week guaranteed
2+ years ED experience
At least 1 year trauma-center experience
Previous travel experience required — no first-time travelers
Epic ASAP experience — absolutely required
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC
Weekend: every other weekend
Holidays: required
No call/standby
No floating
Royal Blue scrubs
Cancellation: 1 shift per 2-week period
RTO: up to 10 days can be requested without hospital approval; >10 days or holidays require approval

ED overview

55 beds + 8–12 swing beds
4 trauma bays
~250 patients/day
4 zones
Ratios:
- Main ED: 4:1
- Accelerated Care/fast track: 5:1
- Critical care: 2:1
Separate psych/seclusion rooms with 24/7 monitor tech
In-house security
Common cases include STEMI, stroke, DKA, sepsis, trauma, respiratory disease, and behavioral health
RNs manage their own holds
Travelers generally do not triage unless they complete additional orientation/competency
Epic EMR

Important disqualifiers

Do not submit if the candidate has known license hits involving:

Diverting medications
Endangerment

Those can result in immediate contract cancellation.
