Key submission requirements

• Epic experience: 100% required
• Prior travel experience required — no first-time travelers
• 2+ years ER experience
• 1+ year trauma-center experience
• Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
• Must be comfortable with a high-volume, diverse ED
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours/week
• Every other weekend
• Holidays required
• No call/standby
• No floating
• Royal blue scrubs
• Cancellation: 1 shift per 2-week period
• RTO: up to 10 days may be requested without hospital approval; longer RTO or holidays requires approval
• Do not submit candidates with license hits involving medication diversion or endangerment.

Department snapshot

• 55 beds + 8–12 swing beds
• 4 trauma bays
• ~250 patients/day
• Ratios: 4:1 main ED, 5:1 accelerated care, 2:1 critical care
• EPIC ASAP
• STEMI, stroke, DKA, sepsis, trauma, respiratory and behavioral-health patients
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms with 24/7 monitor tech
• 4-zone model with nurses, MSTs, resource nurses and HUCs
• Accelerated Care/fast track available
• Travelers generally do not triage unless they complete additional orientation and competency testing
• RNs transport critical patients to imaging
• RNs draw ABGs and perform ECGs; RT manages respiratory equipment
