Travel RN – Med Surg / Stepdown

Setting: Acute Care
Shift: 12H Nights – 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Contract: 13 weeks / 91 days
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Weekend: Every other weekend (EOW)
Holidays: As scheduled
Charting: EPIC
BSN: Not required
License: Must have license to submit; willing to wait
Trauma Level: Not specified
Scrub Color: Royal Blue

Unit Details

• Unit: OBS 6N & 6C – Stepdown & Floor
• Beds: 31 total beds across two units on the same floor
• Ratios:
  • Stepdown: 1:3
  • Floor: 1:5–6
• Patient Population: Med-Surg, cardiac, IDDM, COPD, trauma, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and pain patients
• Telemetry: Yes; telemetry technicians available
• RN Responsibilities: Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Stepdown: Must be able to titrate drips
• Floor: Must be able to manage heparin drips
• RT: In-house 24/7; no ventilators on this unit
• Nursing Assistants: 3–4 CNAs for 31 patients
• Charge Nurse: Charge Nurse on every shift
• House Supervisor: In-house 24/7

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
