Float Required - Y - to med/surg
Weekend Coverage: EOW
Locals Accepted - N - must be > 75 miles
Years of Experience Required: 2
Patient Ratio Experience Required: 1:3
Unit Accepts 1st time Traveler: N - would consider based on profile
Patient Diagnoses: Pt. population is a mixture of young adults to elderly. We see lots vents, titratable drips, substance abuse withdrawal. Diseases of cardiac, respiratory, neuro, GI systems, etc. Also manage post-op pt.'s
Special Procedures/Unit Details: A-lines, central lines, intubations, chest tubes, open abdomens
Special Equipment: glidescope
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
Skills: Medical Intensive Care Unit, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, IV insulin protocols, GI surgery, Accessing/Managing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, CVA/Acute Stroke management, Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, Care of Ventilated Patient, Fresh tracheostomy, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Pulmonary edema, Pulmonary embolism, Respiratory failure, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Phlebotomy
