EEG Technologist
 

Location: Houston, TX 77030

Department: Neurodiagnostics / Neurology / Epilepsy


Position Summary:
 

We are seeking an experienced Neurodiagnostic Specialist with advanced expertise in EEG, intracranial stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG), Transcranial Doppler (TCD), and surgical neurodiagnostic procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in complex EEG monitoring, including Long-Term Monitoring (LTM), Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM), and invasive epilepsy monitoring. This role requires the ability to work closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other clinical teams in high-acuity settings.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, complex, and specialized EEG recordings.
  • Perform and support Long-Term Monitoring (LTM) and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) studies.
  • Support intracranial SEEG monitoring, including electrode implantation procedures and invasive recording protocols.
  • Assist with electrode placement, implantation, and recording design for invasive epilepsy monitoring.
  • Perform and assist with cortical mapping and specialized intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring in the operating room.
  • Perform or assist with Transcranial Doppler (TCD) studies according to established clinical protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in EEG/neurodiagnostics.
  • Strong experience with complex EEG monitoring and epilepsy services.
  • Experience with SEEG/invasive EEG monitoring strongly required.
  • Experience with LTM and EMU procedures.
  • Experience with intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM) and/or cortical mapping.
  • Experience performing or assisting with Transcranial Doppler (TCD) studies.
  • Current registry/certification recognized by ABRET, such as:
    • R. EEG T. (Registered EEG Technologist)
    • CLTM (Certified Long-Term Monitoring)
Additional relevant ABRET credentials are highly desirable.
