🏥 UNIT OVERVIEW

Unit: Medical Telemetry 4 South
Department: MS/Tele
Beds: 28
Patient Ratio: 1:6
Scheduling: Block
Shift: Nights, 19:00–07:30

This unit provides care for medically complex patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and higher-level nursing interventions. The population includes patients transitioning from ICU as well as patients with cardiac, renal, and respiratory needs.

Common Patient Diagnoses

• Atrial fibrillation (AFib)
• Post-cardiac catheterization
• Post-heart catheterization
• Patients with increased oxygen requirements
• Dialysis patients
• Cardiac patients
• ICU step-down patients

ICU Step-Down Environment

The unit frequently receives patients transitioning from ICU but does not take patients requiring ventilators or vasopressor support.

🎓 REQUIREMENTS

Required Certifications

✅ BLS
✅ACLS
✅NIHSS

License

✅ Active Tennessee RN License Required

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Epic experience required
• Strong Med/Surg or Telemetry experience
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• First-time travelers may be reviewed based on overall clinical experience
• Travel experience is not required
