Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Travel Assignment

Shift Details
- Monday–Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- After the initial training week, the schedule may transition to 4×10-hour shifts when working alongside the regular technologist.
- No weekends
- No holidays
- No on-call requirement
Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, initiative, and technical expertise. The technologist will operate nuclear medicine equipment, administer and prepare radiopharmaceuticals, perform quality control procedures, and follow all applicable radiation safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and inject radiopharmaceuticals and calculate appropriate dosages.
- Prepare, measure, and perform quality control of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Operate gamma cameras, planar/SPECT equipment, PET, radiation detectors, dose calibrators, and related instrumentation.
- Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures according to established protocols.
- Position and monitor patients during procedures.
- Perform IV access using appropriate site selection and aseptic technique.
- Maintain accurate dose and procedure documentation.
- Follow NRC radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles.
- Perform required quality control on Nuclear Medicine equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience – Required
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB Registered, or equivalent – Required
- Active AHA BLS – Required
- Current Nuclear Medicine skills checklist
- 2 supervisory references completed within the last 2 years
- NMTCB certification – Required
