Description
Unit Overview
The Postpartum Unit primarily cares for:
- Mothers following vaginal deliveries
- Mothers following Cesarean-section deliveries
- Patients requiring intermittent postpartum magnesium therapy
- Patients experiencing postpartum hemorrhage
Common Medications & Treatments
- IV antibiotics
- Intermittent IV magnesium
- PRBC administration
- RhoGAM
- Lovenox
Equipment Used
- Welch Allyn blood pressure monitors
- Nihon Kohden monitoring systems
- Venodyne machines
- IV infusion pumps
- Panda warmers
- Medela breast pumps
Patient Population
- Newborns and postpartum mothers
Unit Capacity
- 13 Postpartum beds
- 4 Continuing Care Nursery beds
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent Postpartum nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Travel nursing experience preferred, but first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
Submission Requirements
Candidates must provide:
- Updated resume reflecting at least 1 year of Postpartum experience
- Two recent professional references from a Charge RN, Nurse Manager, or Supervisor within the same specialty
- Specialty-specific skills checklist
- Valid driver's license with address matching candidate demographics
- Current AHA BLS and NRP certifications
- NURSYS Verification Report showing an active or conditional Massachusetts RN license (current or previous), pulled within the last 7 days
Additional Notes
- Acute care experience is required.
- RTO (Requested Time Off) requirements must meet facility guidelines.
