Description
Unit: 5N Postpartum
Floating: No
On-Call: No; volunteers may be requested to cover vacant shifts
Weekend: Every other weekend
Holiday: Every other major holiday
Requirements:
- 1+ year recent Postpartum RN experience
- Acute care experience required
- Current AHA BLS & NRP required
- Massachusetts RN License – active or conditional
- Travel experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
- 2 recent Charge RN/Manager/Supervisor references
- Lactation certification preferred
- EMR experience required
Unit Details:
- 13 Postpartum beds + 4 Continuing Care Nursery beds
- Primarily cares for post-vaginal delivery and post-C-section patients
- Occasional postpartum magnesium and postpartum hemorrhage cases
- Newborn care involved
- Common medications: IV antibiotics, IV magnesium, PRBCs, RhoGAM, Lovenox
- Equipment includes IV pumps, Panda warmers, Medela breast pumps, BP monitors, and venodynes
