Pay: $60.00/hour
Overtime: $90.00/hour
Weekly Gross: $2,160.00
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Position Overview

Halcyon Nurse Staffing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Observation Pavilion at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

The Observation Unit is a progressive care unit located adjacent to the Emergency Department (ED). The patient population is generally more ambulatory and includes patients who are being observed for potential discharge or are awaiting admission to an inpatient unit.

The unit cares for patients with a range of acuity, making strong assessment and critical-thinking skills essential. Critical care or progressive care experience is strongly preferred.

Patient Ratios

• Typical ratios range from approximately 1:3 to 1:5, depending on patient acuity.

Qualifications Required

• Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience
• Recent hospital/acute-care nursing experience
• Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to care for patients with varying levels of acuity
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS certification preferred/required based on facility requirements
• Progressive Care, Stepdown, Telemetry, ICU, ED, or Critical Care experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Must be comfortable caring for patients who may require frequent reassessment and escalation of care

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to observation and progressive-care patients.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition.
• Recognize changes in acuity and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Monitor patients awaiting discharge or inpatient admission.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Meditech.
• Follow hospital policies, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.

Orientation

Orientation is held every other Wednesday–Friday.
