Position: ED/Med-Surg Registered Nurse
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM | 12-Hour Nights
Schedule: Nights
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
Call: No call requirement
Floating: Required between Emergency Department (ED) and Med-Surg
Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
EMR: Cerner

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ED/Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care across both the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical units. The RN must be comfortable transitioning between both care settings and managing a diverse adult patient population in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in both ED and Med-Surg settings.
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, labs, and changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments safely.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Manage patients with varying levels of acuity in the ED and Med-Surg environment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, ancillary services, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Maintain safe patient ratios and follow hospital policies and clinical standards.
• Float between the ED and Med-Surg unit as operational needs require.

Required Certifications

• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required
• PALS – Required
• TNCC – Preferred, not required

Schedule Requirements

• 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• No call
• Every 3rd weekend rotation required
• Flexibility to work in both ED and Med-Surg is required.
