Description

RN – Obstetrics

Patient Population: Maternal & Newborn
Average Births: Approximately 15 births per month

Job Overview

The RN will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout the entire perinatal period, from pre-delivery through postpartum care. The nurse should be comfortable managing both maternal and newborn needs throughout the patient’s stay.

Key Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
Care for mothers from pre-delivery through postpartum
Provide routine newborn care following delivery
Monitor maternal and fetal status and recognize changes in condition
Assist with labor and delivery procedures as needed
Provide postpartum assessments and interventions
Support breastfeeding, newborn care, and parent education
Monitor newborn transition and overall well-being
Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Collaborate with OB providers, newborn care teams, and other healthcare professionals
Promote safe, compassionate care for both mother and baby
