Description
- Position: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
- Location: Spokane, WA
- Shift: Nights 4x12 (3x12 also available)
- Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
- Start Date: Aug 31st
- Special requirements: Acute Care High Risk Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, Pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, active management of laboring pts, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies.
Pay Breakdown:
- Weekly Gross: $4,164
- W2: $50/hr.
- OT: $85/hr
- Stipend: $1,484 Weekly
Requirements:
- WA or Compact State RN license - Required
- Minimum 2 years of L&D Experience - Required.
- Previous Epic EMR experience required.
- BLS, ACLS, NRP and EFM certifications Required.
Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) for a 13-week assignment with a leading healthcare facility. L&D RN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients in a busy teaching hospital. Manages fetal monitoring, medications, IV therapy, deliveries, C-sections, emergencies, and newborn care while ensuring safe maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Duties:
- Assess and triage obstetric patients; provide antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Perform and monitor EFM, NST, OCT, IUPC, and fetal scalp electrodes; recognize abnormal fetal heart patterns.
- Manage IVs, PICC/CVC lines, blood products, infusion pumps, and phlebotomy.
- Administer Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, insulin, anticoagulants, terbutaline, and other OB medications.
- Assist with vaginal/high-risk deliveries; circulate and scrub for C-sections and provide recovery care.
- Manage obstetric emergencies including hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, abruption, placenta previa, PROM, preterm labor, and uterine rupture.
- Provide neonatal care including APGARs, newborn assessment, thermoregulation, hypoglycemia management, and neonatal resuscitation.
- Provide postpartum, couplet, breastfeeding, pain-management, and discharge education.
- Assist with cerclage, D&C, and tubal ligation procedures.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and maintain accurate documentation and patient safety standards.
