Description
- Required Certifications to be Attached upon Submittal: WI RN License and BLS- AHA or ARC
- Minimum Experience: 2+ years Med Surg experience. Must have recent hospital experience. Trauma level II experience required. Prior travel experience REQUIRED.
- Charting Experience: Epic REQUIRED.
- Unit Specific Skillset: Post Surgical Care Unit post recovery after Pacu. 40 bed inpatient area that provides care along a continuum for pre and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients.
- RN must have ability to multi task and prioritize patient care needs based on acuity and work as a team.
- Scrub color: any color
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Nurse to pt ratio: day/pm 1:4 or 5, nights 1:5- 7
- Fast paced post-surgical unit that averages 10-15 admissions per day with the highest occurring on Day/PM.
- Occupancy of unit is 90-95 % during the week with average length of stay 2 3 days (except joints).
- GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed.
- During flu season, any traveler who declines flu and COVID vaccination is required to wear a mask at all times. This is an Aspirus policy, and compliance is mandatory (No exceptions). Failure to follow the policy may result in corrective action.

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
- Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Primary Location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital
- Shift Requirements: 12 hour Days. 7a-7p
- Weekend/Holiday: every other weekend, and holiday
- Float Requirements: : To all inpatient units;
- On Call/Call Back Requirements: Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours - can be low censused in hour increments as needed. Unit will typically low census in 4 hr increments and could ask for a traveler to work only 4 or 8 hrs of the shift. This is not considered to be on call.
- Equipment used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps
