Unit Information: Special Care Nursery Level II (32 weeks and above)
Location: Stone Springs Hospital Center

General Information
Tell us about the unit(s):
Number of Beds – 5 – able to expand to 6
Number of Staff – 2 RNs when unit is open
Type of staff:
Day Shift – 1 charge, 1 RN (Second RN when unit is open)
Night Shift – 1 charge, 1 RN (Second RN when unit is open)
Patient Ratios – Depends on acuity and Volume
Type of equipment – Giraffes, Pandas, Syringe Pumps, Hospira Pumps
EMR – Meditech
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
Minimum of 2 years NICU experience at Level 2 or greater
NRP skills to attend vaginal and c/s deliveries
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
STABLE Certification
Nursing Certification within specialty
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
IV Antibiotics, Dextrose infusions, TPN/Lipids, PO/NG feeds, Umbilical Line maintenance, Oxygen Support, Nasal CPAP, Surfactant administration assist, delivery attendance.
Family centered care for mothers and families
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
NRP, BLS

Postpartum: to care for Well Newborns, NRN role in L&D at deliveries
