Travel Echo Technologist – Hilo, Hawaii
Hilo Medical Center | Hilo, HI
Contract: 26 weeks
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Positions: 1
Shift: Variable | 40 hours/week + call as needed
Position Overview
Hilo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Echo Technologist for a 26-week travel assignment. Candidates must have strong adult echocardiography experience in an acute hospital setting and be comfortable performing advanced cardiac studies.
First-day requirement: The traveler must arrive in Hilo on Thursday, October 8, 2026, before the October 12 start date, to complete an employee health appointment on Friday. Do not accept the assignment if you cannot arrive on time.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting
- RDCS certification required
- AHA BLS required
- ARDMS or CCI certification accepted
- Pediatric echo experience is a plus, not required
- Must be willing to float to other departments
- Holiday coverage required
- Must be available for call when appropriate
Required Echo Skills
Candidates must be competent to proficient in:
- Adult echocardiography
- 2D-mode
- Continuous-wave (CW) Doppler
- Pulsed-wave (PW) Doppler
- Color flow mapping
- Valvular disease studies
- Cardiomyopathy studies
- Congenital heart disease studies
- Pericardial disease and effusion studies
- 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
- Hypertensive heart disease studies
