Description

Job Details – RN Nursery / Special Care Nursery

Facility: Concord Hospital
Specialty: RN – Nursery
Shift: 3×12-hour nights
Shift Time: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Start: ASAP
Trauma Level: Level II

Required Experience

3–4 years of nursing experience
At least 2 years of NICU or Special Care Nursery (SCN) experience
Previous NICU or Level II SCN experience is required
Postpartum experience is preferred but not required
Must be comfortable with:
- Assisting with deliveries
- Starting neonatal IVs
- Babies on CPAP
- Tube feedings
- ESC management for neonatal withdrawal/substance abuse
- Surfactant administration via LMA when appropriate

Unit Details

Special Care Nursery: 6 beds
Typical census: 2–5 neonates
SCN cares for babies 32 weeks and above
Nurses attend vaginal deliveries and C-sections
Unit is integrated with an 18-bed LDRP Labor & Delivery unit
Approximately 8–9 RNs on staff per shift, with 2 RNs trained for SCN
Babies may include grower/feeders
Cerner experience: preferred, not required
