NICU / Special Care Nursery RN – Travel Contract

Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 12-hour shifts
Contract: 91 weeks

Job Description:
Concord Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Special Care Nursery (SCN). Candidates should have 3–4 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years of NICU or Level II SCN experience. Postpartum experience is preferred but not required. Cerner experience is preferred but not required.

The SCN is a 6-bed unit integrated with an 18-bed LDRP unit, with an average census of 2–5 neonates. The unit cares for babies 32 weeks and above. RNs attend vaginal deliveries and assist in the OR for C-sections. The unit also cares for grower-feeder infants.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care to neonates in a Level II Special Care Nursery
• Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries
• Start neonatal IVs
• Care for babies on CPAP
• Perform tube feedings
• Manage neonatal withdrawal using ESC
• Administer surfactant via LMA when appropriate
• Monitor and document patient condition
• Provide family education and support
• Follow hospital safety and infection-control standards

Requirements:

• 3–4 years of nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years of NICU or Level II SCN experience
• Previous NICU or Level II SCN experience required
• Comfortable assisting with deliveries
• Experience with CPAP, tube feedings, and neonatal IVs
• Comfortable managing ESC/withdrawal patients
• Active RN license
