Description
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience required
- 2 years Med/Surg experience preferred
- Must be available for the first 2 weeks of orientation
- Must be willing to work with a variety of staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed/approved at this time
- Must be willing to float to other Med/Surg units as needed
Licensure & Certifications
- Michigan RN License – pending license accepted; must provide ETA
- BLS (AHA) – pending accepted; please confirm willingness to obtain
Schedule
- Weekend: Every other weekend
- Floating: Based on unit needs; typically floats to another unit approximately once per week
Unit Details
- 37-bed Medical, Surgical & Oncology unit (C5)
- Provides care for a wide variety of general medical diagnosis patients
- Specialty surgical populations include:
- Gastrointestinal
- Urological
- Gynecological surgeries
- Hysterectomies
- Mastectomies
- Orthopedic/Neurovascular
- Cardiac/Pulmonary
Staffing Ratios
- Nights: 1:5–6
- Ratios may flex up to 1:8 when needed; in these situations, the RN will be paired with an LPN for additional support
- Team-based staffing model includes RNs, LPNs, and Techs
